About FST

Faroe Saga Travel (FST) is a division of Iceland Saga Travel, LLC and was formed in February 2003. Faroe Saga Travel is designed to introduce and position the Faroe Islands as an attractive travel destination for North American travelers.

FST has designed a travel business to promote the Faroe Islands as a distinct travel destination - Destination Faroe Islands - and an add-on travel destination for visitors to Iceland.

Iceland Saga Travel, LLC and Green Gate Travel Services in Tórshavn have established a travel program featuring air and land packages, escorted tours, customized itineraries and a full set of travel services for travelers to the Faroe Islands.

FST is a travel services firm enabling travelers to purchase a fully inclusive travel plan to the Faroe Islands year round. In addition ala cart services are available.

Mr. Felch has traveled to the Faroe Islands since his first visit in April 1976. The staff of FST/IST is knowledgeable in all travel matters relating to the Faroe Islands following two extensive trips to the islands in February and September 2003 as well as subsequent visits.

FST handles all bookings and payments and provides its clients with prepaid vouchers for use on trips ranging from bus transport to and from the airport to visits to the various islands of the Faroe Islands. FST can plan trips in detail from arrival to departure or just arrange an air/accommodation package. FST can pre-book restaurant reservations, symphony tickets, bus passes, mobile phone rentals, limousine services, spa reservations, etc. Once travel plans have been booked and paid for, FST will provide the client with city and country brochures, maps and guides as well as a detailed itinerary.

Iceland Saga Travel, LLC is a limited liability company and is owned and operated by Robert D. Felch of Nantucket, MA. Mr. Felch first visited Iceland in 1965 and the Faroe Islands in 1976 and has been a student of the countries' history, culture and tourism business for over 35 years. Mr. Felch has visited Iceland and the Faroe Islands many times over the past five decades and lived in Iceland for two years in 1975-76. During this time Mr. Felch worked on a farm in the north of Iceland, worked in a factory in Reykjavík, Iceland's capital, and attended the University of Iceland where he studied the Icelandic language. Mr. Felch also studied Old Norse, Icelandic literature and history at Cornell University in 1973-4.
In between Mr. Felch's visits to the North Atlantic, he worked for 23 years in corporate America, spending 20 years at Chubb & Son, Inc. as an executive. He also helped his family operate several family-owned retail travel agencies over a 30-year period. Mr. Felch has been married to Marianne D. Hutton since 1979. Mrs. Felch is engaged in the daily operation of FST/IST. The offices of IST were relocated to Nantucket, MA, in September 2002.

Iceland Saga Travel, LLC. has a contractual agreement with Icelandair/USA as a tour provider. IST is a member of The Wonders Of Iceland Tour Operators Group. IST offers services through licensed and approved vendors with whom IST management has met and tested offered services.
