| Getting There / Flight Schedule
The best way to travel to the Faroe Islands from North America is to fly on Icelandair or Iceland Express to Iceland and then on Atlantic Airways and/or Air Iceland to and from the Faroe Islands. In most cases the trips from North America to the Faroe Islands can be accomplished in one day. Typically during peak season (June-August), there are 3 flights weekly between the Faroe Islands and Iceland. FST can develop a flight itinerary to optimize your time in the Faroe Islands. Atlantic Airways is the national carrier of the Faroe Islands. Established in 1987, it flies to Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Scotland and London. The airline operates two BAE 146-200, high-winged, four-engine jet aircraft. The seating throughout the aircraft is designed for comfort, featuring wide, leather-covered seats. The service is impeccable and always friendly. You can even make duty-free purchases in flight. From Iceland, the trip is only a swift one-hour journey.
2010: Iceland – Faroe Islands Flight Schedule • Between January 4 and October 25 – Departures on Mondays • Between January 4 and October 29 – Departures on Fridays • Between June 24 and August 16 - Departures on Wednesdays During July, August and through mid-September fights depart Reykjavík Airport at 5:35 PM and arrive at Vágar Airport at 8:05PM. Flights depart Vágar Airport at 9:45 AM and arrive Reykjavík Airport at 10:15 AM. Note: Monday flights leave the Faroes at 4:00 PM and arrive Reykjavík Airport at 4:30 PM. Flight times vary, please check with FST. Iceland flights depart from the Reykjavík City Airport, not from Keflavík International Airport.
